Far up in the North Atlantic lie the Faroe Islands. A small archipelago with just 54,000 inhabitants. Our adventure north starts from here. More precisely, in Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands. Depending on the wind and weather, we first sail along the coast of the Faroe Islands and make one or two stopovers if possible. We then sail non-stop up to the Island of Fire, Iceland. The passage to Seyðisfjörður to the east will take about 2-3 days. Of course, we will also make one or two stops along the Icelandic coast before we reach our final destination of Seyðisfjörður. Expected course of the trip:

We sail with the POLARIS from Tórshavn towards the northwest. After one or two more stopovers on the Faroe Islands, we start our 2 to 3-day crossing to Iceland. Our destination there is the fjord Seyðisfjörður to the east. Depending on the wind and weather, we will travel along the north or south coast in stages before reaching our final destination. From Seyðisfjörður you can then take a comfortable flight home. Depending on the weather and the schedule, it may be necessary to cover longer sections of the journey under engine power. Total distance: approx. 500 nautical miles.

This extraordinary trip is led by the two professional sailors Guido Dwersteg and Simon Eder.

Services included:

• Provision of a high-quality and regularly maintained automatic lifejacket with integrated AIS transponder.

• Provision of all prescribed and standard safety and rescue equipment. Naturally as good as new and regularly serviced.

• Professional ship management and supervision by two experienced professional skippers. All crew members receive a comprehensive on-board and safety briefing.

• Use of all on-board facilities of our expedition yacht POLARIS, e.g. central heating, bathrooms, WI-FI, satellite telephone (only for offshore trips), water maker, generator, 220 V on-board power, area guide, nautical charts, etc.

• Not included are Costs for travelling to and from the destination, costs for provisions, drinks, diesel, demurrage, fees incurred and other undertakings. With the exception of travel costs, these expenses are allocated to the on-board fund, to which all guests contribute equally. The main skipper is also catered for from the on-board fund. The catering costs for the co-skipper are covered by HS-Segelreisen GmbH.

Information on arrival and departure:

Please note the different departure and destination ports (Tórshavn -> Seyðisfjörður) when planning your trip. You can reach Tórshavn quickly and easily by flying to Vagar International Airport (FAE). Most flights are operated via Oslo, Copenhagen and Tromsö. For the return journey, you then fly from Seyðisfjörður either to Reykjavík or the Faroe Islands, from where you can travel directly back to mainland Europe. In this respect, we recommend the usual booking portals for your research. Sometimes it also makes sense to search for flights directly on the websites of the relevant airlines to obtain additional allotments or a cheaper price.
