Our adventurous journey begins in the ‘Paris of the North’. That's what Norwegians call the tranquil yet lively city of Tromsø. In recent decades, numerous expeditions to the Arctic and Spitsbergen have set off from here. Even the famous polar explorer Roald Amundsen embarked on his last voyage from here. So, a maritime atmosphere and living history await us. We now continue north through the partly open but also narrow inland waterways and fjords of northern Norway. We make numerous stops in larger and smaller ports or spend the night at anchor in the great outdoors. We will also pass Hammerfest, which claims to be the northernmost city in the world, before approaching the famous North Cape. Here we will moor in Honningsvag to visit the North Cape by land. We will now sail eastwards along the north coast of Norway. Shortly before the Russian maritime border, we will turn south and head for our destination, Kirkenes. Book your berth or cabin now and experience this extraordinary adventure on our exclusively equipped expedition yacht POLARIS.
Expected course of the trip:
We sail with the POLARIS from Tromsø through the winding waterways and fjords of northern Norway towards the North Cape. During numerous stops in the midst of Norway's fascinatingly beautiful landscape, you will experience Nordic nature and way of life up close. In Kirkenes, we finally reach the centre of the north, right on the Russian border. From here, you will travel back to Germany in comfort by plane via Oslo or Tromsø. Depending on the weather and schedule, it may be necessary to cover longer sections of the journey by motor. Total distance: approx. 350 nautical miles.
This extraordinary trip is led by one of our experienced professional skippers.

Information on arrival and departure:
When planning your trip, please note the different departure and arrival ports (Tromsø -> Kirkenes). You can reach Tromsø quickly and easily by flying via Oslo. Oslo (OSL) itself can be reached by direct flight from Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam and Brussels. The return journey from Kirkenes also involves a stopover in Oslo or Tromsø. In this respect, we recommend the usual booking portals for your research. Sometimes it also makes sense to search for flights directly on the websites of the relevant airlines to obtain additional allotments or a cheaper price. You can also find an overview of all Norwegian airports, including the connections available from there, at Avinor.
