The starting point for this fantastic journey is Oban on the west coast of Scotland. A cosy little town with lots of flair and atmosphere. From here, we set course for the Inner and Outer Hebrides and experience Scotland's breathtaking nature up close. Possible stopovers include Tobermory, the Small Isles and the Isle of Skye. On the Outer Hebrides, the islands of Uist, Harris and Lewis await us. Another highlight will be a detour to the volcanic archipelago of St Kilda. This lies almost 70 kilometres further west in the open Atlantic and promises pure adventure. The destination of our sailing trip will then be the Hebridean capital of Stornoway. Expected course of the trip:
We sail with the POLARIS from Oban in a north-westerly direction. On numerous stopovers in the midst of historic landscapes, you will experience Scottish nature and way of life at first hand. Highlights of the trip will probably be the Small Isles, Skye and the Outer Hebrides. Depending on the wind and weather, we will also make a detour to St Kilda far out in the rough North Atlantic. Finally, we will reach Stornoway, the capital of the Outer Hebrides. From here you will travel back to the mainland by ferry or flight. You can then take a comfortable flight home from Glasgow or Edinburgh. Depending on the weather and the schedule, it may be necessary to cover longer sections of the journey by plane. Total distance: approx. 300 nautical miles.

- Stay and accommodation on an ultra-modern and exclusively equipped expedition yacht from GARCIA. A ship in a class of its own, which you will not find anywhere else in the world for bookable sailing holidays.

- Provision of a high-quality and regularly maintained automatic lifejacket with integrated AIS transponder.
- Provision of all prescribed and standard safety and rescue equipment. Naturally as good as new and regularly serviced.
- Professional ship management and supervision by two experienced professional skippers. All crew members receive a comprehensive on-board and safety briefing.
- Use of all on-board facilities of our expedition yacht POLARIS, e.g. central heating, bathrooms, WI-FI, satellite telephone (only for offshore trips), water maker, generator, 220 V on-board power, area guide, nautical charts, etc.
- Not included are Costs for travelling to and from the destination, costs for provisions, drinks, diesel, demurrage, fees incurred and other undertakings. With the exception of travel costs, these expenses are allocated to the on-board fund, to which all guests contribute equally. The main skipper is also catered for from the on-board fund. The catering costs for the co-skipper are covered by HS-Segelreisen GmbH.

Information on arrival and departure:
When planning your journey, please note the different departure and arrival ports (Oban -> Stornoway). To travel to Oban, take the bus or train from Glasgow or Edinburgh. The transfer from the two major Scottish cities is completely hassle-free. Your return journey is then by ferry or flight from Stornoway, depending on your plans. You can then book flights from Edinburgh or Glasgow to Frankfurt, Amsterdam or London Heathrow. In this respect, we recommend the relevant booking portals Swoodoo and Opodo for your research. Sometimes it also makes sense to search for flights directly on the websites of the relevant airlines to obtain additional allotments or a cheaper price.
