Experience the far north of Norway at its most spectacular: this special trip combines relaxed sailing with guided ski tours in one of Europe's most impressive landscapes. Our journey begins in Svolvaer, the centre of Lofoten with good infrastructure and a cosy harbour. Depending on our guests' preferences, we will either embark on the first guided ski tours with experienced local guides or sail along the impressive Lofoten archipelago for a few days. For the return journey to Bodø, we will set sail again and cross the Vestfjord eastwards to the Norwegian mainland. From here, we follow the rugged coastline southwards, past deep fjords and rugged mountains to Bodø. A trip for anyone looking for sailing, ski touring and real adventure off the beaten track.

Expected course of the trip:

Depending on the weather and individual plans, you will first undertake various guided ski tours from Svolvaer, or we will sail with the POLARIS along the Lofoten Wall and through the fascinatingly beautiful fjords of the archipelago. We will then set course east and cross the Vestfjord to the Norwegian mainland in one long stretch. After various stops in picturesque harbours or cosy anchorages, we finally reach our destination port of Bodø. From here, you can comfortably fly home via Oslo or Tromsø. Depending on the weather and schedule, it may be necessary to cover longer sections of the journey by motor. Total distance: approx. 150 nautical miles.

Services included:

• Stay and accommodation on an ultra-modern and exclusively equipped expedition yacht from GARCIA. A ship in a class of its own, which you will not find anywhere else in the world for bookable sailing holidays.

• Provision of a high-quality and regularly maintained automatic lifejacket with integrated AIS transponder.

• Provision of all prescribed and standard safety and rescue equipment. Naturally as good as new and regularly serviced.

• Professional ship management and supervision by experienced professional skipper. All crew members receive a comprehensive on-board and safety briefing.

• Use of all on-board facilities of our expedition yacht POLARIS, e.g. central heating, bathrooms, WI-FI, satellite telephone (only for offshore trips), water maker, generator, 220 V on-board power, area guide, nautical charts, etc.

• Not included are: Ski equipment, costs for ski tour guides, transfers to the ski areas, costs for travelling to and from the destination, costs for provisions, drinks, diesel, demurrage, fees incurred and other undertakings. With the exception of travel costs, these expenses are allocated to the on-board fund, to which all guests contribute equally. The main skipper is also catered for from the on-board fund. The catering costs for the co-skipper are covered by HS-Segelreisen GmbH.

Information on arrival and departure:

When planning your trip, please note the different departure and arrival ports (Svolvaer -> Bodø). You can reach Svolvaer quickly and easily by plane or ferry via Oslo and Bodø. Oslo (OSL) itself can be reached by direct flight from Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam and Brussels. The return journey from Bodø also involves a stopover in Oslo. Alternatively, you can also travel via Tromsø. In this respect, we recommend the usual booking portals for your research. Sometimes it also makes sense to search for flights directly on the websites of the relevant airlines to obtain additional allotments or a cheaper price. For Norway, this is usually the airline SAS.
