Our sailing trip starts in Malahide Marina just outside Dublin city centre. Beforehand, you have the opportunity to experience the vibrant Irish metropolis live and up close. It is up to you whether you prefer to visit a typical Irish pub with live music or take advantage of one of the many cultural activities on offer here. The tour then heads north along the Irish coast. After stops in Carlingford, the Isle of Man and/or Ardglass, we reach the capital of Northern Ireland. The city can look back on an eventful history, not least because of the decades of conflict between pro-Irish Catholics and the mostly English Protestants. The famous Titanic was also built here, not far from where we are moored, and there is a particularly interesting exhibition about it. The destination of our sailing trip will be the picturesque town of Oban on the west coast of Scotland. This is the gateway to the Great Glen and the Scottish Highlands. Before that lies not only the passage across the Irish Sea, but also other enchanting stops in places such as Campletown, Gigha and Ardfern. Book your berth or cabin now and experience this extraordinary adventure on our exclusively equipped expedition yacht POLARIS.
Expected course of the trip:
We sail northwards with the POLARIS from Malahide along the east coast of Ireland. On numerous stops you will experience the typical Irish hospitality and nature up close. Possible stops include Carlingford, the Isle of Man, Ardglass and Marlfield Bay. We then cross over to Scotland via Belfast. Here we sail the fascinatingly beautiful islands off the Scottish west coast with their rugged cliffs and the strongest tidal currents of the eastern North Atlantic. From Oban, you will then travel by train or coach to Glasgow or Edinburgh, from where you can take a comfortable flight home. Although we endeavour to cover as many miles as possible under sail, we would like to point out that, depending on the weather and the schedule, it may be necessary to cover longer sections of the journey under engine power.
This extraordinary trip will be led by the professional skipper Uwe Heißel and another experienced member ofour team.

Information on arrival and departure:
When planning your journey, please note the different departure and destination ports (Dublin -> Oban). You can reach Dublin by plane from many European countries. For the return journey from Oban, you must first travel by bus or train to Glasgow or Edinburgh, as only island flights are offered from Oban. However, the transfer to the two major Scottish cities is completely hassle-free. From Edinburgh or Glasgow you can then book flights to Frankfurt, Amsterdam or London Heathrow. In this respect, we recommend the relevant booking portals Swoodoo and Opodo for your research. Sometimes it also makes sense to search for flights directly on the websites of the relevant airlines to find additional allotments or a cheaper price.
