Welcome to STEM Adventures – A Journey Into Creativity, Code & Curiosity

This thoughtfully designed program invites growing minds to dive deeper into the dynamic world of STEAM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. As children's cognitive and language skills mature, so does their capacity to plan, collaborate, and reflect on their learning. In this course children take on more structured challenges that involve logic, perseverance, and abstract thinking. Here students will advance from symbolic coding to block-based programming using age-appropriate tools and technologies. In addition to coding and robotics challenges, students engage in unplugged design challenges, conduct creative STEAM experiments, and build interactive engineering projects—all designed to make learning exciting, meaningful, and tangible.

Each week features a new project or theme, covering all areas of STEM and digital literacy. As your child's confidence and capabilities grow, they tackle more complex tasks and technologies to expand their knowledge and imagination.

Science

Young scientists uncover the "why" behind the world through fun, inquiry-driven activities:

  • Explore energy transformation with marble runs and roller coaster loops to learn conservation of energy.

  • Investigate and record data on plant growth to test their hypothesis on how different condition may affect the outcomes.

  • Create paper circuits using LEDs, copper tape, and batteries to learn about electricity, polarity, and circuit design.

Technology

Digital tools help kids think like inventors and programmers—one project at a time:

  • Learn Develop digital fluency through visual programming in Scratch Jr. and Code.org and other block based introductory coding tools.

  • Incorporate more advanced robotics such as Codey Rocky, Vex Go Neuron, and SamLabs.

  • Dive into creative tech with projects like dot matrix animations, coding-based stories, beginner AI, and basic IoT experiments.

Engineering

Students design, build, test, and refine their ideas through exciting engineering challenges:

  • Use 3D design software like TinkerCAD to bring your ideas and designs to reality

  • Build more advanced designs incorporating gear chainsand advanced  more ainkages with Lego, VexGo, and more!

  • Apply the engineering design process to invent solutions, test prototypes, and analyze outcomes.

Mathematics

 VEX 123 - Coding Fundamentals - Lab 3 - Robot Move - Play

Math becomes meaningful through playful application and hands-on exploration:

  • Apply geometry and spatial reasoning through 3D modeling and construction projects.

  • Explore measurement, speed, and angles through physics-based experiments with launchers and roller coasters.

  • Strengthen sequencing, pattern recognition, and introduce if then concepts and loops to your coding and develop more advanced logical thinking through robotics and block-based coding tasks.
