Camp Theme:
Adventures in AI
Adventures in AI is a hands-on, creativity-driven camp where students explore how artificial intelligence works—and how to use it to solve real problems, build apps, and control robots. Through interactive challenges and exciting projects, learners move from AI basics to advanced applications while developing critical thinking, collaboration, and design skills.
Students kick off the camp with a detective-style mystery challenge that introduces prompt engineering. Over three rounds, they solve a case using different prompting strategies—Zero-Shot, Few-Shot, and Chain-of-Thought prompting—and see firsthand how the way a prompt is written can dramatically change an AI’s reasoning and output. By the end of the challenge, participants can design effective prompts, compare AI strategies, and thoughtfully guide AI responses.
Next, students become AI app creators, learning how to design and build their own applications using industry-inspired tools like Figma, Base44, and Lovable. They’ll combine creativity, user experience design, and AI functionality to turn ideas into working prototypes.
The adventure continues with AI-powered robotics. Using VEX AIM, students program two AI-enabled robots and put them to the test as they play football, learning how AI can drive decision-making, movement, and teamwork in real-world systems.
By the end of Adventures in AI, students won’t just understand AI—they’ll know how to use it, question it, and build with it.
