Programming Basic IRC5

General objectives

The aim of the course is for the participant to learn the basics of programming industrial robots with control system IRC5.

Course objectives

After completing the course, you will be able to do the following:

  • Have a basic knowledge of ABB Robots' mechanics
  • Be able to jog the robot both linearly, reoriented and axis by axis
  • Structure an application using routines, modules, and named data
  • Understand the difference between Task and Program
  • Program basic movements
  • Use basic instructions and functions
  • See that the resolver is working and be able to reset it if necessary
  • Create and define tooldata
  • Create and define wobjdata
  • Know how to save programs and take a backup of the system
  • Create a virtual copy of a real controller
  • Use RobotStudio to edit the bot both online and offline

Participant

This course is the first step to becoming a robot programmer. It is aimed at operators and service personnel with the need to modify existing robot programs.

Prerequisites

Previous experience from working with robots together with basic PC use is an advantage.
