Capturing and modeling with BPMN

The Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is a modeling technique that is used for the visual representation and automation of business processes.

BPMN, version 2.0 of which was released in 2013, is now the de facto standard for process modeling and is superior to traditional forms of representation such as activity diagrams, flowcharts or event-driven process chains (EPCs). Due to its defined rules (syntax) and its interpretation-free interpretation (semantics), it forms the common language of business process management and IT.

The OMG standard BPMN, also published as an ISO19510 standard, is widely used in many industries. A sound knowledge of BPMN is therefore part of the skills profile of all analysts and all those who deal with processes.

BPMN (ISO19510) can be used to model business and technical processes.

Learning objectives of the BPMN seminar

After completing the seminar, participants will be able to

  • Understand BPMN

In our training course, you will learn the “secret” thought patterns behind BPMN and will be able to correctly interpret any diagram, whether simple or complex.

  • Using BPMN

You are familiar with the symbol palette and know which constructs are appropriate in which situations. You can document and analyze processes organizationally, design for IT measures and develop a consistent process model from the rough description to the automated workflow.

  • Introducing BPMN

You will have an overview of the possibilities and limitations of the notation and will be able to assess its benefits for your own work and your company after the training. You will be able to design a roadmap that organizes the introduction of BPMN in your company and benefit from the best practices taught in the seminar for your challenges.

Target group

Our BPMN seminar is suitable for

  • Managers and project managers
  • controllers
  • Requirements and process analysts, modelers
  • Process owners, process managers, process consultants
  • Operational organizers and quality managers
  • IT employees and software developers

Live online training

The live online training lasts four days and is conducted via Zoom. Although Zoom can also be used via browser (Chrome), we recommend using the client, which can be downloaded at https://zoom.us/download. You will receive the access data a few days after successful registration.

The training is conducted live by an experienced trainer. Tools and presentations are optimized for the online medium and ensure learning success.

We start at 09:00, take a one-hour break offline at 12:00 and finish the seminar at around 15:00.

You use your own computer. We recommend that you use a mouse for modeling. No software needs to be installed, all exercises will be done in a cloud-based modeling platform. You will receive further information on this during the training.
