Welcome to the World of Coding with Minecraft!
Join TechLabs for a virtual camp where we will explore the world of Minecraft , learn how to build amazing things using coding, and compete with other students to win prizes!! In our 4 day camp you will be introduced Microsoft MakeCode, a block-programming editor, which enables programming inside Minecraft Windows 10 or Minecraft Education Edition.
This camp is perfect for kids new to Minecraft and block programming. In our beginner level workshop you will learn basic Minecraft and Makecode programming skills and apply them as you explore and play in your very own Minecraft world.

NOTE: It is highly recommended that a computer competent parent, guardian or sibling be available for assisting Beginner level children.

- REQUIRED Software Downloads AND Installation:
- Please have Minecraft Win 10 AND Microsoft CodeConnection App pre-downloaded and installed BEFORE the workshop. Once Minecraft WIN 10 is installed, Code Connection (and MakeCode) is available for free download. Detailed instructions to assist with installing the software will be emailed when you register along with sample code to test the installation or see: https://minecraft.makecode.com/setup
- Minecraft Windows 10 Edition (Download and connect to your Microsoft account before class. Have Gamertag name handy to provide the teacher)
- Microsoft Code Connection for MakeCode
- Arrange Shortcuts to Minecraft Win 10 AND Microsoft Code Connection on toolbar of your desktop
- This event requires a Minecraft version compatible with Microsoft’s MakeCode visual programming environment and with Microsoft Code Connection (that interfaces between Minecraft and MakeCode). To date, we have only confirmed compatibility with Minecraft WIN 10 and Minecraft For Education versions. Please do NOT register if you have another version of Minecraft (Java, Pocket Edition, etc.).
