Design For the Future

Innovate, Design, and Engineer

Design is more than just creating—it’s about using creativity to innovate, solve real-world challenges, and make a meaningful impact. Our Design & Engineering Camps take students on an inspiring journey of hands-on exploration and product development, where they’ll learn to think like designers and engineers. Through brainstorming wild ideas, experimenting, and embracing failure as part of the process, campers will develop the mindset to approach problems with creativity and resilience. Guided by expert TechLabs instructors, students will gain the tools they need to transform their ideas, their inventions, and their visions into reality.

Camp Theme:

Blast Off into Innovation: Join Our Space Engineering Holiday Camp!!

Embark on an extraordinary journey at our Space Engineering Holiday Camp, where young innovators will explore the captivating world of space technology! This immersive camp combines hands-on robotics, engineering challenges, and creative problem-solving to inspire the next generation of engineers, astronauts, and scientists. Campers will engage in exciting activities that simulate real-life space missions, fostering a love for STEM while having a blast.

Example Activities:

  • Mars Rover Robot Design and Exploration:
Design and build your own rovers using Makeblock mBot or VEX Robotics. Participate in team competitions with FPV robot obstacle challenges or program your rover to navigate rugged terrain and collect simulated Martian samples.

  • Engineering Design Challenges: Learning with Sensors

    Heat Shield Design Challenge:
Explore programming and sensor technology by using temperature sensors to evaluate a heat shield that protects a piece of chocolate from melting. Evaluate various materials for their insulation properties through hands-on experimentation and critical thinking.

    Egg Drop Experiment:
Put a twist on the classic "egg drop" challenge by engineering a damping system for a safe astronaut capsule landing. Program a Micro:bit to use its internal sensors to track g-forces during the drop, applying programming and sensor data to reinforce key engineering concepts.

  • Rocket Launching Workshop:
Experience the thrill of launching water rockets equipped with altimeter sensors. Learn about propulsion, aerodynamics, and trajectory through engaging physics lessons as you design rockets and measure their performance.

  • 3D Printing for Space Missions:
Discover the power of 3D printing technology by designing and printing prototypes of space tools or habitats. Participate in discussions about NASA’s innovative uses of 3D printing in space exploration

Join us for an unforgettable adventure that will ignite your curiosity and passion for space and technology! This camp is not just about learning; it’s about dreaming big, reaching for the stars, and having fun along the way!
