Join us for one of our highly hands-on ROBOTICS courses geared to inspire, engage, and teach the forward thinkers of our world. Participants will have the opportunity to play and program with the latest tools in EdTech robotics technology, from the newest version of Makeblock's mBot to Codey Rocky, BBC micro:bit, Sphero, or our very own TechLabs TL1 Swarm robot. Participants learn the engineering behind how robots and sensors work, and how to build, test, and INVENT unique robots to complete different tasks.
In this VEX IQ Robotics course, students dive into the world of robotics engineering and programming through hands-on experience and thrilling challenges each semester. They'll tackle exciting projects, from designing and programming their own "battle bots" for friendly competitions to navigating complex "parkour" missions that test agility and precision. Each year culminates in the official VEX Robotics Competition, where students showcase their skills and teamwork in a high-energy, competitive environment. Perfect for aspiring engineers and tech enthusiasts, this course combines creativity, strategy, and real-world problem-solving.
In the fall semester, our Battle Bot Robotics course introduces students to the fundamentals of engineering, coding, and design using VEX IQ technology in a high-energy setting. Working in teams, students design, build, and program custom battle robots, applying concepts like gearing and mechanical advantage to conquer challenges in the arena. After the battle bot challenges, they explore more advanced STEM skills through competitions like tug-of-war, freeze tag, and autonomous Robot Skills Challenges, building a solid foundation in robotics and teamwork.
In Spring, our VEX IQ Robotics course pivots to an intensive focus on preparing for the VEX IQ Competition, a premier global robotics event. In this specialized program, students engage in a comprehensive training regimen to maximize their performance in the upcoming season. Working in small teams (2-4 students), they design, build, and program a robot optimized for the season’s game, gaining a competitive edge through early, iterative development.
Throughout the course, students will:
Join us on this thrilling adventure, where learning meets competition, and dreams take flight in the arena of robotics excellence!
