Adventures in Coding: An Exciting Journey for Young Minds!

This class designed to teach STEM, programming, and computer science concepts and skills in a fun & engaging setting using a wide range of programmable electronics and programming software.

 

 


CODE Adventurers: Explore coding, games, and virtual worlds.

Overview:
This exciting course is perfect for children eager to build confidence with computers and programming. With a strong focus on the "T" in STEAM, kids will develop essential tech skills—like using a PC and mouse, typing, and beginner-friendly programming concepts.

Designed for ages 7–9, this fun and creative class introduces children to the world of coding, animation, and immersive technology. Using tools like Scratch, mBlock, CoSpaces Edu, and more, students will learn to create interactive games, bring characters to life with animation, and build their own mini virtual reality experiences.

They will also apply coding skills combined with Robotics (Codey Rocky, Lego, and Vex GO) to see their code come to life.  

What Kids Will Learn:

  • Scratch & mBlock & VexGo (block coding):

    • Build simple games, animations, and interactive stories

    • Learn coding logic like sequences, loops, conditionals, and events

    • incorporate AI, lego robotics and more into fun games and coding experiences

  • CoSpaces Edu (AR/VR creation):

    • Design virtual environments using 3D objects and basic code

    • Use block coding to add movement and interactivity in virtual worlds

  • Code.org (additional practice):

    • Strengthen problem-solving skills with fun, game-like challenges

    • Reinforce core coding concepts through puzzles and levels

Key Skills Developed:

  • Creative storytelling with digital tools

Prerequesite:

Children in this class should feel comfortable with age appropriate reading skills. Previous programming it is not required—just curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning!
