Adventures in Coding: An Exciting Journey for Young Minds!

This class designed to teach STEM, programming, and computer science concepts and skills in a fun & engaging setting using a wide range of programmable electronics and programming software.

For the course we will use the MakeCode or mBlock software. Both are designed for programming for children and supports block-based and text-based programming languages.

  • Based on Scratch 3.0, easy introduction to programming.

Scratch is a programming tool developed by MIT and is considered the world's most influential programming language for children. Based on Scratch 3.0 and Arduino code, mBlock is versatile and user-friendly enough to give you everything Scratch can offer you. And it's pretty easy to learn because you can program simply by dragging and dropping blocks.
  • Give your creativity a head start with cutting-edge technologies such as AI.

mBlock integrates Microsoft's cognitive services and Google's deep learning into one tool. With these features, kids can program to add more capabilities to mBlock, such as guessing their age or using photo recognition to control their games. With mBlock, it's easy for kids to learn the basics of AI.

Introduction to Programming and Robotics with Micro Cutebot & micro:bit

This engaging and hands-on course is designed for young learners eager to explore the exciting worlds of programming and robotics using the Micro Cutebot, a small and versatile programmable robot. Additionally a DIY joystick will allow remote control of the cute but and your very own custom video games.

What You'll Learn:

  • Basic Programming Skills: Start with simple graphical programming and progress to more complex coding techniques using Makecode or Python.
  • Robotics Fundamentals: Understand the basic concepts of robotics, including sensors, motors, and how robots interact with their environment.
  • Hands-On Projects: Engage in interactive projects that utilize the Cutebot's onboard equipment, such as ultrasonic sensors, distance sensors, RGB LED headlights, and line-tracking probes.
  • Problem-Solving and Creativity: Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills by designing and programming the Cutebot to perform various tasks and challenges.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work in teams to tackle exciting robotics challenges, fostering collaboration and communication skills.
