Design isn’t just about creation; it’s about harnessing creativity to solve real world problems and improve people's lives- through the use of innovation. Our after school program takes students on an exciting journey of solving real world problems through hands-on exploration & product development. The project-based curriculum aligns with prompts based on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals -- a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 for the year 2030. In collaboration with Citizen Cyber Lab,Open Seventeen, and Micro:bit - do your :bitwe incorporate their prompts to mentor students through the design process to reach desired outcomes.
Invention, however, requires more than just curiosity and creativity – it requires the KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS to carry a design to fruition. TechLabs teachers help students gain the knowledge to facilitate THEIR ideas, THEIR invention, and THEIR vision and to show them how to implement it with new technologies.
This course is offered as both Design For The Future and Design For The Future Junior allowing students of a wide variety of age and skill levels to participate and learn how to use technology to innovate for a better future!
For students inclined to share their ideas through competitions, we are available as a project mentor for submission into one of many design competitions (Example: Bugnplay.ch, micro:bit Global Challenge)
