MTCNA (MikroTik Certified Network Associate) (english)

In this course, participants will acquire well-founded knowledge about the RouterOS and MikroTik product range. They will also be able to configure and manage a MikroTik router, troubleshoot errors and offer basic services to customers.

Target group

The course is aimed at anyone who would like to gain a deeper insight into the world of network technology – specifically MikroTik.

Requirements for participation

Basic to good knowledge of TCP/IP

  • Establishing an initial connection with an unconfigured device
  • RouterOS CLI
  • Configuring internet access (WAN, LAN, firewall)
  • RouterOS upgrade
  • Managing RouterOS logins
  • Managing RouterOS services
  • Configuration backups
  • RouterOS licences
  • Netinstall

Module 2 – routing

  • Overview of routing
  • Static routes
  • Setting up and managing routes (fixed and dynamic)

Module 3 – bridging

  • Overview of bridging
  • Setting up and managing concepts

Module 4 – wireless

  • 802.11n concepts (frequencies, channels, regulations)
  • 802.11a/b/g
  • Setting up a simple wireless link
  • Filtering MAC addresses
  • Wireless security and encryption
  • MikroTik wireless protocols
  • Monitoring tools
  • Wireless bridge networks

Module 5 – network management

  • ARP
  • DHCP
  • RouterOS tools (e-mail, Netwatch, ping, traceroute, etc.)

Module 6 – firewall

  • Basic information about firewalls
  • Firewall filters (setting up, managing)
  • Address lists
  • Source NAT
  • Destination NAT

Module 7 – QoS

  • Simple queues (target, destinations, max. limit, etc.)
  • A simple queue for the entire network
  • Monitoring

Module 8 – tunnel 

  • PPP settings
  • IP pool
  • Secure local network (PPPoE)
  • Secure remote networks (PPTP, SSTP)
